Membership Information
Anyone over 18 is welcome to use The West Seattle Tool Library, whether you live in West Seattle or anywhere else in the region. Members are just required to fill out a membership application and a liability waiver as well as present a form of photo ID to Tool Library staff. Membership is required to check out tools or use the workshop.
The Tool Library’s usage is based on suggested donations. These donations are a crucial part of keeping the collection well maintained and the Tool Library running smoothly. This community resource thrives on the generosity of its users. The donations are suggested– you’re welcome to give more, less, or none of the suggested rates. Thank you for your support!
No proof of income is required. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at: library@wstools.org. We hope to see you soon!

1 month: $7
6 months: $25
1 year: $45
Lifetime: $250
Low Income (1 year): $20
Student (1 year): $30
Senior (1 year): $30

Please note that these are suggested donations. The library depends on donations to pay rent, staffing and other operational costs. Membership discounts are not available online, but our librarians are happy to assist with any membership rate adjustments.
Complete the membership application
Print and fill out the membership application form, and bring the completed form for your first checkout.
If you don’t have access to a printer, or otherwise need assistance completing the form, our librarians can provide copies and assistance on-site.
Returning Members
Memberships may be renewed or extended at any time. You can renew online using the link to the left, or in person next time you check out a tool.

Member Survey
